In accordance with Articles L221-5, R.111-1 and L.211-1 of the French Consumer Code, these general terms and conditions of sale are available at all times and are systematically brought to the attention of every customer/user before an order is placed. Placing an order and ticking the box “I accept the general terms and conditions of sale” during payment therefore constitutes the customer’s full and unreserved acceptance of these terms and conditions.
ARTICLE 1 – CONCEPT
1.1 GRU BAR & LIVE ESCAPE GAME is a live escape room and immersive theatre concept owned by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL. These general terms and conditions of sale apply to any contract for the provision of a game room entered into between (1) any company in the ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL group and (2) the room’s players, hereinafter referred to as “PLAYERS”, whether they booked personally or form part of the team of the person who made the booking, hereinafter referred to as the “BUYER”.
1.2 These terms apply regardless of the booking method, whether through the ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL website, hereinafter referred to as the “WEBSITE”, or through the staff of Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL.
1.3 The game space made available to PLAYERS is referred to as the “ROOM”, and the agreement for its provision as the “CONTRACT”. The game booked and paid for by the BUYER on the WEBSITE is referred to as the “GAME SESSION”.
1.4 ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL reserves the right to amend, or have amended, all or part of these general terms and conditions of sale and the content of its WEBSITE (http://www.gru-escape.com), at its sole discretion, at any time and without prior notice.
1.5 The general terms and conditions of sale of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL are available on the WEBSITE and may be freely consulted upon request at the reception desk of Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL.
ARTICLE 2 – PROVISION AND USE OF THE ROOM
2.1 Under the rules of the game, Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL grants PLAYERS the right to occupy the ROOM for a maximum of 60 (sixty) minutes for GAËTAN and 90 (ninety) minutes for CULT and L’Épopée Mystérieuse. The ROOM may be occupied solely to take part in a game organised by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL, in teams of 2 to 6 people for GAËTAN and 2 to 8 people for CULT and L’Épopée Mystérieuse.
2.2 PLAYERS accept that their time in the ROOM is limited to 60 minutes for GAËTAN and 90 minutes for CULT and L’Épopée Mystérieuse, whether or not they have found all the clues and solved all the puzzles. This is a fundamental principle of the game. PLAYERS also accept that the game may end before the maximum duration of the chosen experience, particularly if they find all the clues and solve all the puzzles sooner, without any price adjustment or compensation.
2.3 Admission to the ROOM requires presentation of the booking confirmation email (sent to the BUYER shortly after payment) and the BUYER’s identity document.
2.4 CULT and GAËTAN are accessible from age 18, or from age 12 when accompanied throughout the session by a person aged 18 or over. L’Épopée Mystérieuse is accessible from age 10 when accompanied throughout the session by a person aged 18 or over. If a PLAYER’s age is in doubt, ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL reserves the right to request proof of identity.
2.5 PLAYERS must keep the ROOM and all its equipment (including, without limitation, decorations, furniture and electronics) in good condition and use them only as authorised. The PLAYER therefore acknowledges under the CONTRACT that any deliberate damage or damage caused by unauthorised handling of the room or its equipment will be charged to the PLAYER.
2.6 The PLAYER must also use the ROOM and its equipment in a manner that neither causes nor risks causing damage to other PLAYERS or to the premises and equipment of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL.
2.7 Throughout their presence on the premises of Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL, PLAYERS undertake to behave respectfully, comply with the rules and cooperate with staff. ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL does not tolerate any verbal or physical violence, harassment or intimidation towards its employees and reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone behaving in this way. Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL also reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, for their safety and that of others. In all the circumstances described above, refusal of admission gives no entitlement to compensation or a refund.
In all the circumstances described above, refusal of admission gives no entitlement to compensation or a refund.
2.8 Due to the nature of the game, no recording may be made in the ROOM. The use of video and/or audio recording devices (including, without limitation, mobile phones, cameras and GoPros) is strictly prohibited. PLAYERS must place these devices in the containers provided. Use of any such device may result in the game being stopped for the entire team, without compensation or a refund.
2.9 Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL expects PLAYERS not to disclose details of the game, directly or indirectly. Any partial or complete disclosure would harm the commercial interests of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL.
ARTICLE 3 – PRICES
3.1 The prices charged by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL are shown on the WEBSITE during booking, after a time slot and number of players have been selected. They are also displayed at reception. Prices are in euros (€), inclusive of all taxes, per person, for a SESSION of 60 minutes for GAËTAN or 90 minutes for CULT and L’Épopée Mystérieuse. The price per person depends on team size and session time. Any additional service will be charged separately. ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL reserves the right to change its prices at any time. Special conditions may apply, particularly for business customers or teams of 2 or 6 players.
ARTICLE 4 – BOOKING
4.1 Provision of a ROOM is subject to prior booking and payment. The BUYER makes the booking on the WEBSITE of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL: http://www.gru-escape.com.
4.2 All bookings are made through the WEBSITE, subject to the availability displayed there. A booking becomes firm and final only upon receipt of the booking confirmation email sent to the BUYER after payment.
4.3 In exceptional cases, staff of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL may make a booking on the BUYER’s behalf if the BUYER cannot do so on the WEBSITE. In such cases, the BUYER unreservedly accepts that this type of booking entails no liability for ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL or its staff, who act solely as data-entry operators following the BUYER’s instructions.
The BUYER therefore waives any claim arising from misuse, a breach of the confidentiality of their data or fraudulent use of their account.
Only credit card and pass Culture payments are accepted on the WEBSITE.
4.4 If the BUYER cannot pay for the booking by bank card or pass Culture, they must visit reception at ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL to pay the amount in euros by credit card, pass Culture or cash.
4.5 ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL has entrusted management of its payment platform to a provider specialising in secure online transactions. This provider does not retain any BUYER data in its databases.
ARTICLE 5 – PERSONAL DATA
5.1 The BUYER is responsible for the accuracy of the information entered in the online booking form on the WEBSITE. The information we collect about you may include your name, email address, postal address, telephone number and date of birth. Information relating to people under 16 must be provided with the consent of their legal guardian.
5.2 GRU uses 4escape to manage bookings and Mailjet to send emails.
Customers may receive commercial offers for similar services provided by GRU unless they object. They may refuse these communications when their email address is collected and unsubscribe free of charge using the link in every email. In other cases, their prior consent is obtained.
Accepting the terms and conditions does not constitute consent to commercial communications. A person booking for a group cannot consent to receiving them on behalf of the other participants.
5.3 We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including compliance with legal, accounting and reporting obligations. Customer data is retained for the duration of the business relationship. It may be retained for direct marketing purposes for a maximum of 3 years after that relationship ends.
5.4 The necessary data may be processed by service providers involved in managing bookings and sending emails, including 4escape and Mailjet, for the purposes of these services.
ARTICLE 6 – CANCELLATION GUARANTEE
If the option is purchased when booking, the BUYER may cancel the original session up to 24 hours before the event, in the form of a rescheduled session or credit for the amount paid less the cost of the Cancellation Guarantee, without providing any justification and without any further deduction.
The Cancellation Guarantee is valid for one session only. For multiple sessions, a separate guarantee must be purchased for each session booked. It may be used only once per booking and cannot be used again once exercised.
The Cancellation Guarantee costs a fixed €6 inclusive of all taxes. It can only be purchased at the time of purchase through the mandatory choice offered. This option is non-refundable, non-exchangeable and cannot be transferred to another booking. It is not valid for last-minute bookings made less than 24 hours before the purchased time slot.
If the session is cancelled and rescheduled more than 14 days in advance, the Cancellation Guarantee will be considered unused and will remain valid for the session to which it relates.
ARTICLE 7 – RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
7.1 In accordance with Article 221-28 of the French Consumer Code, and subject to the Cancellation Guarantee conditions in Article 6, no booking may be cancelled or refunded unless the cancellation is solely attributable to ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL. In that case, the original booking amount will be refunded.
7.2 Gift vouchers are sent by email, are valid for 18 months from the date of purchase and can be used for CULT, GAËTAN and L’Épopée Mystérieuse. For gift vouchers sold remotely, and in accordance with Article L.221-18 of the French Consumer Code, the buyer has a withdrawal period of 14 days from receipt of the gift voucher.
As electronic gift vouchers do not need to be returned, the refund will be made within 14 days of receipt of the withdrawal request. For purchases made on the premises of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL, the buyer has a withdrawal period of 3 days from the purchase date, without having to give a reason or pay a penalty, except for delivery and return costs, which remain payable by the buyer in the case of a postal return. Once it has been verified that the relevant gift codes have not been used, the refund will be made using the same payment method as the original transaction. To exercise this right, complete the withdrawal form below or send an email to contact@gru-escape.com.
7.3 Online bookings: under Article L.221-28, paragraph 12, of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for contracts for accommodation other than residential accommodation, transport of goods, car hire, catering or leisure activities to be provided on a specific date or during a specific period. Consequently, subject to the Cancellation Guarantee conditions in Article 6, no booking may be cancelled or refunded unless the cancellation is solely attributable to ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL.

Any misuse or inappropriate opening of these exits by one or more PLAYERS will result in the costs caused by that misuse being charged to them.
9.4 The USER acknowledges that bringing into the premises or ROOM objects classed as (1) physical hazards (explosive, flammable, oxidising, pressurised or liquefied gas, corrosive), (2) health hazards (toxic, corrosive to skin, irritant/sensitising, carcinogenic/teratogenic) or (3) hazardous to the aquatic environment is strictly prohibited.
