
General Terms and Conditions of Sale
In accordance with the provisions of Articles L221-5, R.111-1, and L.211-1 of the Consumer Code, these General Terms and Conditions of Sale are available at any time and are systematically brought to the attention of each customer/user to enable them to place an order. Thus, placing an order and checking the box “I accept the general terms and conditions of sale” during the payment process implies the customer’s full and unconditional acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale.
ARTICLE 1 – CONCEPT
1.1 GRU BAR & LIVE ESCAPE GAME is a concept that combines a real-life escape game and immersive theater, owned by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL. These general terms and conditions of sale apply to any contract for the provision of a game room entered into between (1) any company within the ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL group and (2) the players of the room, hereinafter referred to as “PLAYERS,” whether they have personally booked or are part of the team of the person who made the reservation, hereinafter referred to as “THE BUYER.”
1.2 These terms apply regardless of the booking method, whether it is made via the ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL website, hereinafter referred to as the “WEBSITE,” or through the staff of Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL.
1.3 The gaming space made available to the players is referred to as the “ROOM,” and the contract for its provision as the “CONTRACT.” The gaming session for which THE BUYER books and pays via the WEBSITE is called a “GAME SESSION.”
1.4 ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL reserves the right to modify or amend all or part of these general terms and conditions of sale as well as the content of its WEBSITE (http://www.gru-escape.com) at its sole discretion, at any time, and without prior notice.
1.5 The general terms and conditions of sale of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL are available on the WEBSITE and can be freely consulted upon request at the reception desk of Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL.
ARTICLE 2 – ROOM PROVISION AND USAGE
2.1 In accordance with the game’s concept, Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL grants PLAYERS the right to occupy the ROOM for a maximum duration of 80 (eighty) minutes. The sole and exclusive purpose of occupying the ROOM is to participate in a game organized by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL, which must be played in teams of 2 to 8 players maximum.
2.2 PLAYERS acknowledge that their time in the ROOM is limited to 80 minutes, whether or not they have managed to find all the clues and solve all the puzzles. This is an inherent part of the game concept. Likewise, PLAYERS accept that the game may end before the 80-minute limit if they successfully complete all tasks and solve all puzzles in less time; no adjustments or compensations will be granted in such cases.
2.3 Admission to the ROOM is only possible upon presentation of the booking confirmation email (sent shortly after the payment process to THE BUYER) and a valid ID of THE BUYER.
2.4 Due to the complexity of the game, PLAYERS under the age of 16 are not permitted to participate. Minors under 16 must be accompanied by at least one adult. Minors aged 16 and above are not required to be accompanied by an adult. If there is any doubt regarding a PLAYER’s age, ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL reserves the right to request proof of identity.
2.5 PLAYERS must keep the ROOM and all its equipment (including but not limited to decorations, furniture, electronics, etc.) in good condition and use them as intended. Accordingly, under the CONTRACT, PLAYERS acknowledge that any intentional damage or damage caused by unauthorized handling of the ROOM and its equipment will result in additional charges.
2.6 Furthermore, PLAYERS must use the ROOM and its equipment in a manner that does not cause or risk causing harm to other PLAYERS, the premises, or the property of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL.
2.7 During their time on the premises of Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL, PLAYERS must behave respectfully, comply with the rules, and cooperate with the staff. ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL does not tolerate any form of violence, whether verbal or physical, including harassment or intimidation towards its employees. It reserves the right to deny access to anyone exhibiting such behavior. Similarly, Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs for their own safety and that of others. In all such cases, the denial of access does not entitle the individual to any refund or compensation.
2.8 Due to the nature of the game, no recording is allowed inside the ROOM. The use of video and/or audio recording devices (including but not limited to mobile phones, cameras, GoPros) is strictly prohibited. PLAYERS must deposit such devices in the designated storage areas. Any use of such devices may result in the immediate termination of the game for the entire team, with no refund or compensation.
2.9 Escape & Bar Bordeaux SARL expects PLAYERS to refrain from disclosing any details of the game, whether directly or indirectly. Any partial or full disclosure would violate the commercial interests of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL.
ARTICLE 3 – PRICING
3.1 The prices applied by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL are indicated on the WEBSITE during the booking process, after selecting a time slot and the number of players. They are also displayed at the reception of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL’s premises. Prices are shown in euros (€), inclusive of all taxes (TTC), and are charged per person for an eighty-minute SESSION. The price per person varies depending on the number of participants and the session time. Any additional services will incur extra charges. ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL reserves the right to modify its prices at any time. Special conditions may apply, particularly when the client is a company or when the group consists of 2 or 6 players.
ARTICLE 4 – BOOKING
4.1 The provision of a ROOM is subject to prior booking and payment. The booking is made by THE BUYER via the ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL WEBSITE: http://www.gru-escape.com.
4.2 All bookings are made through the WEBSITE and are subject to availability as displayed. A booking becomes firm and final only upon receipt of the booking confirmation email, which is sent to THE BUYER upon completion of the payment process.
4.3 In certain exceptional cases, ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL staff may process a booking on behalf of THE BUYER if they are unable to do so themselves via the WEBSITE. In such cases, THE BUYER unconditionally agrees that this type of booking does not entail any liability on the part of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL or its staff, as the staff acts solely as an input operator following the instructions given by THE BUYER.
As a result, THE BUYER waives any claims related to improper use, breaches of data confidentiality, or fraudulent use of their account.
Only credit card and Pass Culture payments are accepted on the WEBSITE.
4.4 If THE BUYER is unable to pay for the booking by credit card or Pass Culture, they must go to the reception of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL to complete the payment in euros using a credit card, Pass Culture, or cash.
4.5 ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL has entrusted the management of its payment platform to a specialized provider ensuring secure online transactions. This provider does not store any data related to THE BUYER in its databases.
ARTICLE 5 – PERSONAL DATA
5.1 THE BUYER is responsible for the accuracy of the information entered in the online booking form on the WEBSITE. The information we collect about you may include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and date of birth. Information related to individuals under the age of 16 must be provided with the consent of their legal guardian.
5.2 THE BUYER, when providing the details of other PLAYERS (names, phone numbers, email addresses), authorizes ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL to send them information and commercial offers. THE BUYER and/or THE PLAYER who enters their phone number on the ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL WEBSITE agrees in advance to be contacted by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL via phone or SMS. THE BUYER also agrees to receive information and commercial offers from ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL via email or mobile phone by clicking the authorization checkbox on the WEBSITE.
5.3 We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it, including to comply with any legal or accounting requirements. Customer data is retained for the duration of the business relationship. These data may be kept for commercial prospecting purposes for a maximum of three years after the end of the business relationship.
5.4 ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL commits to not sharing its PLAYERS’ personal data with any company outside the ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL group.
ARTICLE 6 – CANCELLATION GUARANTEE
If the Cancellation Guarantee option is selected at the time of booking, THE BUYER may cancel their initial session in the form of a session reschedule or a credit note for the amount paid, minus the cost of the Cancellation Guarantee, up to 24 hours before the event, without justification and without any penalty.
The Cancellation Guarantee applies to only one session. If multiple sessions are booked, a Cancellation Guarantee must be added for each session. The Cancellation Guarantee can only be used once per booking; if used, it cannot be reused.
The Cancellation Guarantee is offered at a fixed price of €6 (TTC). It can only be purchased at the time of booking as a mandatory option. This option is non-refundable, non-exchangeable, and non-transferable to another booking. It is not valid for last-minute bookings (less than 24 hours before the scheduled session).
In the event of a cancellation and rescheduling more than 14 days in advance, the Cancellation Guarantee will be considered unused and will remain valid for the session to which it applies.
ARTICLE 7 – RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL
7.1 In accordance with Article 221-28 of the Consumer Code, no booking can be canceled or refunded, except in the event of a cancellation initiated solely by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL. In this case, the amount of the initial booking will be refunded.
7.2 Gift Cards
In accordance with Article L.221-18 of the Consumer Code, for remote sales, THE BUYER has a withdrawal period of 14 days from the date of receipt of the gift card.
For electronic gift cards, no return is required, and the refund will be processed within 14 days from the receipt of the withdrawal request.
For on-site purchases at ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL, THE BUYER has a withdrawal period of 3 days from the date of purchase, without having to provide justification or pay penalties, except for delivery and return costs, which remain the responsibility of THE BUYER if the return is made via postal mail.
The refund will be processed after verifying that the gift card codes have not been used, using the same payment method as the original transaction. To request a withdrawal, simply complete the withdrawal form below or notify us via email at contact@gru-escape.com.
7.3 Online Bookings
In accordance with Article L. 221-28, 12° of the Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to service contracts for accommodation (excluding residential accommodation), transportation of goods, car rentals, catering services, or leisure activities that must be provided on a specific date or during a specific period.
Therefore, no booking can be canceled or refunded, except in the event of a cancellation initiated solely by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL.

ARTICLE 8 – CONSUMER MEDIATION
8.1 In the event of a dispute between the consumer and our company, the consumer has the option to refer the matter to a consumer mediator in an attempt to resolve the dispute amicably, in accordance with the provisions of Title I of Book VI of the Consumer Code.
8.2 In accordance with Article L.221-5 of the Consumer Code, the consumer is informed that they must attempt to resolve the dispute directly with our customer service before contacting the mediator.
8.3 In accordance with Article R.616-1 of the Consumer Code, we provide the consumer with the contact details of the relevant consumer mediator:

ARTICLE 9 – SECURITY
9.1 The PLAYER agrees to comply with all safety measures provided, whether contractual, displayed on-site, in an explanatory video, or given orally by the staff of ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL.
9.2 Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the premises.
9.3 Each PLAYER must read and follow fire safety instructions and emergency exit procedures. These exits are clearly marked in the ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL facility. Emergency exits must remain clear at all times. They should only be used in cases requiring evacuation (such as a fire). Any misuse or improper opening of these exits by one or more PLAYERS will result in the billing of any costs incurred.
9.4 USERS are strictly prohibited from bringing the following items into the premises or the ROOM:
- (1) Physically hazardous items (explosives, flammable substances, oxidizers, pressurized or liquefied gases, corrosive materials).
- (2) Items hazardous to health (toxic substances, skin corrosives, irritants, sensitizers, carcinogens, or teratogens).
- (3) Items harmful to the aquatic environment.
9.5 During periods of COVID-19 transmission, PLAYERS must wear a mask at all times while inside the facility. However, if PLAYERS present a valid health pass, they may remove their masks while playing.
ARTICLE 10 – PHOTOS AND CAMERAS
10.1 Photos of each PLAYER team may be taken before, during, or after the game session. These photos may be used by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL on its WEBSITE or digital platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.). These photos will also be sent to PLAYERS via email within a reasonable timeframe after the session.
10.2 ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL is not responsible for how PLAYERS and/or the BUYER use these photos.
10.3 Each ROOM is equipped with a video surveillance and audio system that allows ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL staff to monitor the game session and provide hints if necessary. This system is solely for gameplay purposes and does not record PLAYER SESSIONS unless the PLAYER requests it as part of a memory service offered by ESCAPE AND BAR BORDEAUX SARL (service currently in development).
ARTICLE 11 – JURISDICTION
These general terms and conditions and any contract incorporating these terms are governed by French law, and all disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.
